Iranian docs line up for U.S. festival

TEHRAN – The TAC International Film and Video Festival, which is currently underway in Eugene, Oregon, is screening nine Iranian documentaries.
“Memoires for All Seasons” by Mostafa Razzaq-Karimi, “Afro Iranians” by Farhad Varahram, “Lost Melodies” by Alireza Qasemkhan and “Plane Grove” by Hadi Afarideh are among the films, the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) announced on Sunday.The lineup also includes Ezzatollah Parvazeh’s “Woolen Doll”, Marjan Riyahi’s “Iranian Ninja”, Reza Khanlari’s “Bazaar from Tehran to Tehran”, Mohammad Ehsani’s “Enamel Dome” and Mehdi Baqeri’s “Memory of One Way Street”.
Several speakers from around the world will discuss the creation, distribution and use of cultural heritage films as an influence for broad cultural awareness at the TAC Conference on Cultural Heritage Films.
Bahman Nuraii from Iran will speak today about Cinéma Vérité, the Iranian international festival for documentary films.
According to the organizers, the TAC festival and conference bring together the world’s best films on archaeology, ancient cultures and the world of indigenous peoples. The event will run until May 19.
